It has been nearly 500 years since sugar maple was discovered by Jacques Cartier and his companions. For decades, Maple season has gained popularity with Quebecers who now celebrate annually this warm period of the year surrounded by their loved ones. The possibilities of desserts concocted with this natural sugar are multiplying. Whether it's taffy, syrup, cones, lollipops, cakes, or maple butter, there's something for everyone.

IThe Maple season is finally at our doors and we take this opportunity to share one of our delicious seasonal creations: our maple tarte with chantilly. At Jessica Pastries Inc., we love to create themed desserts to satisfy the gourmet taste of our customers. This maple tarte is composed of maple brownie garnished with roasted pecans and a homemade maple filling. This sweetness is covered with maple Chantilly cream and maple flakes. This dessert will bring happiness to your table! We of course use the best maple products which are featured in this maple filling made with maple condensed milk from a local maple grove.

Did you know?

IIn most recipes, the sugar can be easily replaced with maple syrup. Replacement with maple sugar is equivalent to 1 to 1 with traditional sugar. For maple syrup, the conversion is 1 to 1 minus ¼ of liquid (water, milk, juice, etc.). A simple gesture that gets you the best of both worlds. Maple syrup is said to contain about five times more antioxidants than honey, corn syrup and brown rice syrup. Antioxidants are well known to help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.
